Blocksquare and Vera Capital Partner to Tokenize $1 Billion in US Real Estate Assets
In a groundbreaking move, Blocksquare has partnered with Vera Capital to tokenize over $1 billion in US commercial properties. This strategic collaboration will allow for fractional ownership of these assets through blockchain technology, opening up new investment opportunities for global investors.
The proposed marketplace, set to launch within the coming weeks, will enable users to purchase tokenized shares in dozens of properties across seven states in the United States. The initial offerings will stem from Vera Capital’s existing portfolio holdings, comprising a diverse range of real estate assets.
According to Blocksquare CEO Denis Petrovic, the companies are exploring options for launching tokens directly without involving Luxembourg-based entities. This development aims to provide an added convenience for marketplaces based out of the US, such as Vera Group.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in the growing market for tokenized assets. As of April 20th, data from rwa.xyz indicates that the total value of these assets has surpassed $20.99 billion, underscoring the increasing interest in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
Blocksquare has already demonstrated its capabilities by successfully tokenizing over 150 properties across 28 countries, with a combined value exceeding $145 million. This extensive portfolio underscores the platform’s ability to connect traditional real estate with blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi) features.
The partnership between Blocksquare and Vera Capital has sparked significant interest from investors. The campaign on Oceanpoint, Blocksquare’s proprietary platform, attracted more than 100,000 staked BST tokens within a mere hour of launch, highlighting the strong demand for tokenized real estate investments.
Vera Group, the parent company of Vera Capital, operates a multifaceted portfolio that includes a South Florida real estate agency, a property management firm, and an investment fund that has invested over $100 million through various acquisitions and developments.
The combined expertise of Blocksquare and Vera Capital is expected to disrupt traditional real estate investing by providing a bridge between the physical world and the digital realm. By doing so, this collaboration aims to democratize access to US real estate investments while fostering greater transparency and security for all stakeholders involved.
As the market continues to evolve, it remains essential for investors to remain informed about these developments.
