**UFC Kansas City Results, Bonuses, Highlights and Reactions**
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made a stop in Kansas City last night, delivering a thrilling event with seven finishes. The main event saw Ian Machado Garry dominate the first three rounds against Carlos Prates before holding on for a unanimous decision victory.
Garry’s performance was impressive, as he snapped Prates’ win streak and that of his dominant Fighting Nerds camp. Despite being tired in the fifth round, Garry managed to evade Prates’ attacks and secure the win.
Meanwhile, Zhang Mingyang proved to be the ultimate party pooper by ruining Anthony Smith’s retirement fight with a first-round TKO victory. Mingyang took control from the start, landing hard leg kicks and opening up a nasty gash on Smith’s forehead with a step-in elbow.
The loss was not enough to dampen Smith’s spirit, as he received a touching video package from the UFC following his defeat. The veteran fighter has made the right decision in retiring, given the brutal beating he took at the hands of Mingyang.
The event also saw David Onama and Giga Chikadze go the distance with each other, resulting in a unanimous decision win for Onama. Abus Magomedov emerged victorious against Michel Pereira via decision as well.
Randy Brown made quick work of Nicolas Dalby, finishing him off with a devastating right hook in Round 2. Ikram Aliskerov and Andre Muniz did not have the same luck, as their bout ended in a TKO win for Aliskerov at 4:54 of Round 1.
In other notable fights, Matt Schnell won via unanimous decision over Jimmy Flick, Evan Elder took down Gauge Young with a similar verdict, Chris Gutierrez edged out John Castaneda by split decision and Da’Mon Blackshear defeated Alatengheili by way of unanimous decision.
