DC’s Sgt. Rock Movie Has Been KIA by WB
James Gunn and his team have decided to move on from the Sgt. Rock project. It seems that the film is no longer moving forward. The news comes from sources at The Wrap and The Hollywood Reporter.
While neither publication provided a specific reason for the cancellation, it’s possible that scheduling conflicts played a role in this decision. The article mentions that casting had begun, with one key role – “a female French resistance fighter” – already set.
It is worth noting that DC co-president Peter Safran described the story as “a really compelling story about heroism in a time of armed conflict” and it seemed like the project was moving forward. However, it appears that this movie will not be coming to theaters after all.
In other news, Warner Bros. has been busy promoting their upcoming Superman film, starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and others. The film is set to release on July 11th.
