Instacart acquires Wynshop to provide tools for grocers and retailers
Grocery-delivery giant Instacart announced Thursday the acquisition of Wynshop, a provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions for grocers. The deal is expected to improve Instacart’s enterprise offerings by enabling retailers to enhance their online experiences.
According to reports, Instacart did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition. Wynshop launched its platform in 2020 and has since been working with notable clients such as Wakefern Food Corp. and Pattison Group. The company offers a range of solutions including real-time AI-powered personalization tools and in-store order fulfillment capabilities.
As part of the deal, Wynshop will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart and its technology will be integrated into the platform over time. This integration is expected to strengthen Instacart’s e-commerce offerings by providing enhanced shopping experiences for customers and further expanding its presence in the market.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Instacart, bringing the total number of companies it has acquired to six. These previous acquisitions include Caper AI, Eversight, FoodStorm, Rosie, and Unata.
It is also worth noting that Instacart will be reporting its first-quarter 2025 financial results after the market close today.
