Star Wars continues to flesh out its Sequel characters with a new young adult book that puts Finn in the spotlight.
In celebration of Star Wars Day, Lucasfilm has announced an upcoming book that will be centered around none other than Finn, the lovable and conflicted ex-Stormtrooper played by John Boyega in the films. Penned by Kwame Mbalia, author of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky, this young adult novel will star Finn and Jannah from The Rise of Skywalker as they embark on a mission to capture a First Order officer responsible for kidnapping children and transforming them into future soldiers.
As Finn and Jannah search for this individual, they will be forced to confront their own complicated pasts as former soldiers of the oppressive regime. This novel offers a unique opportunity for Lucasfilm to delve deeper into Finn’s backstory, which was left somewhat untold compared to other main characters like Rey and Poe.
It is also possible that this book could potentially explore the untapped potential of Jannah’s character, whose storyline concluded with her parting ways from Lando to search for her family. This plot thread has remained unclear whether it would be explored further in any upcoming projects or not. With this novel, fans might finally get a glimpse into Jannah’s life after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
This new development offers an exciting prospect for fans and potentially gives Finn a chance to redeem himself as a character in the Star Wars universe.
