Twenty years strong: a love letter to TechCrunch
As I sit here, reflecting on the incredible journey that is TechCrunch, I am filled with immense gratitude and admiration for this remarkable platform. It’s hard to believe that it has been two decades since Michael Arrington created this brand, which has since grown into so much more than we ever could have imagined.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented individuals who embody the values that make TechCrunch stand out from the rest. Contrarian, smart, hilarious, and hard-working – you can’t find a better combination anywhere else. It’s this unique culture that has allowed us to break stories before anyone else, hold power accountable, and consistently identify the next big thing long before it becomes mainstream.
The past decade has been no exception. In just the recent weeks alone, we’ve had the opportunity to sit down with some truly remarkable individuals – from prime ministers to startup founders, venture capitalists, and even government officials. Our coverage of topics such as transportation, startups, cybersecurity, and AI has consistently been unparalleled in terms of both quality and quantity.
What’s more impressive is our ability to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of technology. From seed funding to Series C and beyond – we’ve witnessed countless founders and VCs from all stages come together under one roof. Our event in Boston, for instance, promises to deliver powerful takeaways, peer insights, and game-changing connections.
In the midst of a rapidly shifting media landscape, TechCrunch has managed to stay ahead of the curve. It’s no surprise that we’ve been able to do so – the passion and dedication of our writers, editors, sources, readers, attendees, speakers, critics, and cheerleaders are what make this platform truly special.
Here’s to 20 incredible years, and here’s to many more!
