Kenshi Yonezu’s ‘Plazma’ Returns to No. 1, HANA’s ‘Burning Flower’ Debuts at No. 2 on Japan Hot 100
In a thrilling turn of events, Kenshi Yonezu’s powerful track “Plazma” has reclaimed its spot as the number one song on Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 chart for June 18th. This remarkable achievement marks the second time this year that Yonezu has reached the top position.
The track, which serves as the theme song for the latest installment of Mobile Suit Gundam called GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, was initially released digitally on January 20th and quickly gained traction. Its re-release in conjunction with a double-A side single “Plazma / BOW AND ARROW” on June 11 proved to be an even more successful strategy, as the track’s renewed popularity led it back to the number one position.
In other chart news, HANA’s debut release “Burning Flower” has made a strong entrance at the No. 2 spot on the Japan Hot 100. Released digitally on June 9th, the song has already taken off in various metrics, notching No. 1 for downloads and No. 3 for streaming. It also charted No. 22 for radio airplay.
Meanwhile, Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “breakfast” has fallen a notch to the No. 3 position but still maintains strong showings across multiple categories with streaming rising by a considerable 120% and radio airplay climbing a substantial 140%.
