Janis Ian & More to Be Honored by Women Songwriters Hall of Fame
In a monumental moment for women in the music industry, several iconic figures are set to be honored at the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame’s fifth anniversary celebration. The exclusive event is scheduled to take place over two days, with workshops and panel discussions on June 20th, followed by an awards ceremony on June 21st.
The esteemed honorees include multiple Grammy winner Janis Ian, renowned singer Regina Belle, and talented musicians Melba Moore and Dr. Stacy L. Smith, who spearheaded the USC Annenberg Study. Additional honorees include Brenda Russell, Vicki Peterson from The Bangles, YoYo (Yolanda Whitaker), Christina Shusho, Asha Puthli, and Julie Giroux.
Janis Ian, a prominent figure in the music industry, has been recognized with numerous Grammy nominations for her work on songs such as ‘At Seventeen’ back in 1976. Brenda Russell, known for her hits like “Piano in the Dark,” also received a nod from the esteemed awards.
