
Live Nation Entertainment announced a significant change to its leadership structure as Greg Maffei retired from the company’s board of directors. Effective June 12, his retirement took place after the annual meeting of stockholders. Eleven new director nominees have been elected to serve one-year terms. The list includes Maverick Carter, Jimmy Iovine, Rich Paul, and Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.
In other industry news, Believe appointed Romain Becker as chief product officer of operations and marketing services. He will be responsible for leading core functions to enhance the company’s global support for independent artists and labels. His previous experience includes roles at Believe and YouTube Music Partnerships at Google. Based in Paris, he has managed distribution and marketing across 50 territories.
Kyle Loftus joined Independent Artist Group (IAG) as president, and will be responsible for overseeing key departments such as Motion Picture and TV literature, alternative TV, media rights and publishing. His extensive experience includes roles at the agency, starting as an intern to eventually become executive vice president and head of content development. His client roster includes notable artists such as 50 Cent and Mary J Blige.
Additionally, WME appointed Laura Ruiz as an agent in its contemporary music department, specializing in electronic music.
