Silky Soccer, Romancing Everything, and Other New Indie Games Worth Checking Out
Summer is here, and what better way to spend it than with some exciting new indie games? As the heat waves start to roll in (or not), you’ll be pleased to know that there’s no shortage of innovative and engaging experiences coming your way. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some amazing new releases, as well as upcoming titles that have already caught our attention.
First up is Sloclap’s new game, Rematch, which has finally hit the shelves. This action-packed soccer game doesn’t just stop at the beautiful game; it goes further by offering an entirely skill-based experience. You’ll control one player throughout the match and switch between attacking and defending, while also taking on the role of a goalkeeper with your teammates. With fluid motion and responsive controls, Rematch is off to a strong start – having already surpassed a million players in its first day! You can get it now on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass Ultimate, or PC.
Next up is Date Everything!, the latest dating sim from Sassy Chap Games and publisher Team17. As you might expect from the title, this one lets you romance everything – yes, you read that right! With over 100 voice-acted characters to woo, including anthropomorphized household items, it’s no wonder reviews have been generally positive for its engaging writing and design.
We’re also excited about Ball x Pit, a game that promises an irresistible blend of Breakout and Vampire Survivors. As you play through the brick-breaking survival levels, you’ll earn resources to build out your homestead – which has its own loops of fun. And let’s not forget the real magic happens when you combine two balls to create even more powerful projectiles. With the ability to manually or automatically fire these enhanced orbs at enemies and avoid their attacks, it feels like there’s already a lot on offer here. Once released, you’ll be able to play this addictive game on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
Last but not least, we have Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek, the new stealth game based on the classic kids’ series from PHL Collective and GameMill Entertainment. Here, you’ll need to navigate a creepy town without encountering any monsters, while using your trusty slingshot for defense if necessary. With its old-school art style, this one has an undeniable charm. Set your calendars for release on August 29 when it drops on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam.
To finish off the week’s indie roundup, we also have a glimpse at PowerWash Simulator 2, a sequel that promises new features, including abseiling and using scissor lifts to reach those hard-to-reach spots. Multi-stage jobs are another exciting addition, alongside a public restroom to clean (yes, really!) and restore antique furniture for your home base while sharing it with your adorable pets. We’re keeping an eye on this one’s progress as we eagerly await its release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S later in the year.
We hope you enjoy exploring these new indie titles as much as we do!
