Tudou Guarantee Emerges as Key Successor After Huione Darknet Shutdown
In a dramatic turn of events, the abrupt shutdown of Huione Guarantee has created a void in the digital guarantee market that Tudou Guarantee is poised to fill. This latest development highlights the resilience and adaptability of the shadowy network involving online fraudsters, money launderers, and brokers of stolen information in Southeast Asia and China.
According to the latest report by blockchain intelligence firm Elliptic, Huione Guarantee’s activity has come to a halt, but its exit has triggered a significant migration. Vendors are being redirected towards Tudou Guarantee, which has taken on a substantial share of Huione’s transactions.
Prior to its sudden closure, Huione Guarantee was operated by the Cambodia-based Huione Group and initially aimed to facilitate legitimate transactions involving assets like cars and real estate. However, over time, the platform shifted focus, predominantly catering to cyber scam operations. Authorities finally dismantled Huione Guarantee on May 13, 2025, following a detailed investigation by Elliptic, which led Telegram to delete thousands of related channels and ban associated user accounts.
Despite being just one node within a vast network of Chinese-language guarantee marketplaces thriving on Telegram, Huione’s demise has sparked concerns about the impact on the darknet ecosystem. These platforms allow for the exchange of illicit goods such as stolen data, fraudulent tech tools, and money laundering services, which are essential components of scam operations.
Huione’s transactions were exclusively conducted in Tether’s USDT stablecoin, ensuring ease of movement and pseudo-anonymity. Interestingly, Tether froze a Huione-linked wallet in July 2024 due to suspected ties with the notorious North Korean hacking entity, Lazarus Group. Following Telegram’s removal of Huione’s public channels and usernames, the platform formally shut down, advising vendors to transition to Tudou Guarantee. Initially, Huione claimed it would continue providing private escrow services but ultimately ceased operations by late May. Elliptic confirmed this exit through blockchain data, revealing that incoming USDT flows to Huione’s wallets plummeted to “negligible levels.”
With the sudden departure of Huione Guarantee from the scene, Tudou Guarantee is expected to capitalize on the void left behind.
