More Than Anything, Folks Are Excited for Tron: Ares Because of Its Soundtrack
The upcoming Tron film is already generating buzz for its unprecedented decision to have the legendary duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross compose the score as Nine Inch Nails. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Reznor revealed that this will be the first time they won’t include any orchestra in their composition. Instead, they are embracing their industrial rock roots, promising a soundtrack that is “not one second of orchestra.”
Reznor explained that their goal was to avoid sounding “pompous” and instead take a bigger risk with the music. This bold move will allow them to explore the undertones of Tron: Ares’ narrative, which revolves around Jared Leto’s character leaving the digital space for the human world.
It appears that Reznor and Ross have taken their inspiration from the artificial characters in the film, including Jodie Turner-Smith’s Athena. They aim to capture the sense of questioning purpose and replaceability that these characters experience as they navigate their new existence.
Given Disney’s recent track record, it is likely that we will get a preview of the soundtrack before the movie’s release on October 10.
