How Is AI Really Impacting Jobs In 2025?
In 2025, major technology companies have eliminated over 77,000 positions as artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly automates traditional roles. While some claim that AI will create new job opportunities, the reality is far more stark. According to Trueup Tech Layoff Tracker, an astonishing number of people have been impacted by layoffs this year alone.
Unfortunately, recent instances in the tech sector are not isolated incidents. In fact, a staggering 495 people per day are losing their jobs due to AI automation. While some may argue that new job opportunities will arise, the evidence suggests otherwise.
As AI handles more tasks, traditional roles are becoming redundant. Moreover, there is little indication of any concrete actions being taken by governments to address this issue. The situation is even more dire as many of these job losses disproportionately affect economically disadvantaged groups.
This alarming trend has led me to question whether we’re adequately prepared for the challenges posed by AI-driven redundancy.
