A new Fox News poll has revealed that a staggering 58% of Americans are proud of their country, marking the highest level since 2011. The significant surge in patriotism can be attributed to a stark shift among Republicans, with an overwhelming 85% now expressing pride compared to only 36% last summer.
This dramatic increase is seen across most demographic groups, with majorities of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike sharing this sentiment. However, there are some notable exceptions. Women with a college degree and voters under the age of 30 continue to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, with 51% and 57%, respectively, refusing to be proud.
Notably, the poll reveals that for the first time since 2011, most groups surveyed now have a majority expressing pride in the country. This trend is seen across majorities of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike.
Fox News has conducted this national survey with the direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R).
