International Manhunt Launched for Faux Police Officers Who Robbed Ukrainian Citizen of $210 Million in Cryptocurrency
A shocking international crime has been reported, as the Indonesian authorities have launched an unprecedented global manhunt against a group of fake police officers who robbed a Ukrainian citizen of approximately 210 million Hungarian Forints (around $700,000) worth of cryptocurrency.
According to reports, on December 15, 2024, Igor Iermakov, a Ukrainian national, arrived at a villa in Bali when suddenly two other vehicles surrounded his car. Four masked men dressed in police uniforms, armed with guns, knives, and truncheons, emerged from the vehicles and took control of the situation.
The attackers, disguised as police officers, threatened to harm Igor if he did not comply with their demands. They forced him to hand over his phone and then coerced him into transferring approximately 3.4 billion Indonesian Rupiah (around $210 million) worth of cryptocurrency.
This brazen heist has sparked an international investigation, with Interpol being notified and international law enforcement agencies cooperating to track down the suspects.
