‘Alien: Earth’ Could, Eventually, Cross Over With the Movies
The upcoming FX series, Alien: Earth, has taken a significant step closer to blurring the lines between its narrative and the iconic film franchise. In an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair, showrunner Noah Hawley revealed that a crossover with the movies is not only possible but also entirely on the table.
According to Hawley, he doesn’t know how much time will pass within the series or where it will ultimately end up. However, given its setting two years before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic, Alien, and the involvement of Weyland-Yutani Corporation, there is a high likelihood that the Nostromo’s crew might awaken from hypersleep at some point in the future.
The corporation’s decision to divert the ship to LV-426 will likely be explored in-depth during the series, offering viewers a chance to see what happened on the other side of the phone call that led to this pivotal moment in the Alien franchise.
While it is uncertain how far down the line the show’s narrative will go, fans can now confidently expect a potential convergence with the films. This development raises more questions than answers, however, such as who made the decision and why the corporation chose LV-426 specifically.
