The Game Is On in the First ‘Running Man’ Trailer
Gizmodo has just dropped the first trailer for Edgar Wright’s upcoming remake of Stephen King’s cult classic novel and 1987 film, “The Running Man”. And let me tell you, it looks intense.
The new adaptation stars Glen Powell as Ben Richards, a desperate contestant forced to play a deadly game show where he must survive against the clock while evading bounty hunters. As per the original story, this desperate character is competing for cash, aiming to win enough money to pay off his kid’s medical expenses. The film also features Daniel Ezra and Katy O’Brien as fellow contestants, with Josh Brolin and Colman Domingo taking on the roles of the show’s unscrupulous producer and charismatic host respectively.
The footage presents a high-octane action-filled ride that sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting and intense movie. As we follow Ben Richards’ journey, it becomes clear that he is not just fighting for his life but also becoming an inspiration for those watching him on TV – a fact that poses a threat to the wealthy elite.
With Michael Cera, Jayme Lawson, and William H. Macy joining the cast, this film has all the ingredients of being a thrilling blockbuster hit. The Running Man is set to hit theaters November 7th.
