Scooter Braun has announced his departure as CEO from HYBE America, the American arm of the South Korean entertainment giant HYBE Corporation. Braun will remain on the board of directors and take on a senior advisor role to the company’s chairman and CEO Bang Si-Hyuk.
According to reports, Braun will be devoting himself to new ventures outside of his current role. The news marks a significant shift in Braun’s professional trajectory, as he will no longer serve as the chief executive officer of HYBE America.
In a statement, Bang Si-Hyuk praised Braun’s contributions, stating that “Scooter has been an extraordinary partner, a visionary executive, and a true catalyst for cultural exchange.” He added that Braun’s achievements have been vital in establishing their ambitious presence in the US market. Braun will still be involved with HYBE, albeit to a lesser extent.
Braun has played a crucial role in overseeing various divisions within HYBE America, including Big Machine Label Group and Quality Control Music, as well as other interests. It appears that his successor will be Isaac Lee, who was previously the chairman of the division and is now taking on the added responsibility of CEO.
As Braun steps down from the top spot, he has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have been a part of HYBE’s growth journey. He emphasized that “I am incredibly proud of our collective accomplishments” and looks forward to supporting Bang Si-Hyuk and new CEO Lee in their future endeavors.
Under his leadership, Braun played an essential role in expanding HYBE’s global reach, particularly in the US market. His extensive experience in the music industry has been instrumental in shaping HYBE America’s vision.
