TechCrunch has learned that serial entrepreneur and growth hacker Nikita Bier is joining Elon Musk’s X as its new Head of Product. In a post on the app, Bier wrote, “I’ve officially posted my way to the top,” alluding to his large presence on the platform.
Bier, best known for founding apps like Gas and TBH, which were geared towards teens and encouraged them to leave one another compliments, has made a name for himself by building apps that resonate with a younger demographic and driving growth over a short period. His success in the app-building space could potentially be leveraged at X, where he may work on creating features that drive adoption beyond the user base typically drawn to text-first social networks.
In his first post after being appointed, Bier hinted at plans for what comes next, stating that “someone should fix notifications” and suggesting that he had prototyped a deeper Grok integration during his interview.
