Foxconn Unit Boosts AI Server Output with New Taiwan Facility
In a move set to accelerate its artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions, Foxconn’s subsidiary Ingrasys has leased a new facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan. This significant expansion is poised to significantly boost the company’s AI server output in Taiwan, further solidifying its position as a major player in the global AI infrastructure space.
As part of a broader realignment of manufacturing priorities, this strategic step signals Foxconn’s growing focus on AI servers amidst an ongoing global tech shift. The company has already committed US$142 million to building facilities in Houston, Texas, and Sunnyvale, California, while also investing in Mexico and Vietnam. This distributed production model is crucial as global trade policies evolve.
The new facility, which comes with a NT$657 million (approximately US$22.8 million) commitment over 60 months, will see Ingrasys occupy eight floors within the factory complex. The site will reinforce its AI server production lines already operational in Luzhu, Taoyuan and Hsinchu’s Hukou.
This expansion is part of a larger plan to capitalize on the immense demand for AI infrastructure. Foxconn expects AI server revenue to increase by over 50 percent in 2025, potentially surpassing NT$1 trillion (approximately US$34.7 billion).
