MOMENT Writer Shouts Abuse and Hurls Bricks at Badger Before Torching Wildlife-Loving Neighbour’s Land Rover
In a shocking incident, Susan Lupton, 63, has been banned from Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight after she committed arson against her neighbor Graham Lee. The writer hurled bricks at a badger and then set fire to Mr. Lee’s beloved vehicle, a Land Rover Freelander.
The court heard that Lupton had a fixation with Mr. Lee, who was caring for badgers and other wildlife in his driveway. She believed the animals were responsible for killing a local cat, although Mr. Lee claimed that it died of old age. The incident occurred on June 20, 2024, when Lupton set fire to a plastic container filled with white spirit and slid it under the Land Rover.
The court also heard that Lupton had been harassing Mr. Lee online, calling him an “Evil Badger Man” on Facebook. This fixation led her to develop irrational behavior, including hurling bricks at a badger and then setting fire to the vehicle.
