Ondo Finance and Pantera Capital have recently launched a significant investment fund, dubbed “Ondo Catalyst”, with the aim of investing in real-world asset tokenization projects and infrastructure. The massive fund is valued at $250 million.
According to Ondo Finance’s CEO, Nathan Allman, this initiative represents a fundamental upgrade for traditional financial systems through tokenization technology. As he emphasized, tokenization has the potential to bring more efficient operations, faster settlements, and broader investor access compared to the conventional financial market.
It appears that the tokenized real-world asset market is experiencing rapid growth, with a substantial 380% increase since 2022. This marks a significant milestone in the industry, as it has now reached $24 billion as of June 2025. Private credit and U.S. government debt are leading the way for this explosive growth.
Notably, several major exchanges have recently launched their own tokenized asset offerings. Robinhood created a layer-2 blockchain to allow European clients to trade tokenized US stocks and ETFs. Kraken is set to offer tokenized US stock trading services outside of the United States. Meanwhile, Coinbase has reportedly been seeking regulatory approval for its own tokenized equity listings.
Meanwhile, traditional financial institutions have also started to enter this space. BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset managers, has launched a tokenized money market fund backed by short-term U.S. Treasuries. Furthermore, Franklin Templeton has introduced its own tokenized funds.
