**Bounty Killer to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at 2025 Caribbean Music Awards**
Jamaican dancehall icon Bounty Killer is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming 2025 Caribbean Music Awards. This prestigious honor recognizes the artist’s profound impact on multiple generations of Caribbean artists, solidifying his position as a trailblazer in the genre.
The award comes just over a month after Bounty Killer headlined Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for his first U.S. performance in 15 years on July 5. His impressive discography has led to three entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: “Hip-Hopera” (No. 81, with The Fugees), “Deadly Zone” (No. 79, with Mobb Deap and Rappin’ Noyd) and “Hey Baby” (No. 5, with No Doubt).
The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of several honors being presented at the ceremony, which also includes Calypso Honors for Austin “Super Blue” Lyons, a Trinidadian artist who has made significant contributions to the calypson genre by introducing the iconic “jump and wave” style of soca. Additionally, renowned producer Kerwin Du Bois will receive a special Producer Honor in recognition of his work.
The nominations for this year’s awards have been released, with artists such as Grammy-nominated dancehall star Shenseea, Jamaican hitmaker Masicka, Soca icon Bunji Garlin, and reggae legend Romain Virgo leading the pack.
