Marjorie Taylor Greene is going after what she calls “weather modification” with a new bill to ban the practice altogether. This move has sparked concerns about the potential impact on legitimate weather-related technologies and research, as well as its implications for addressing climate change.
According to a recent post by Greene herself, the proposed legislation aims to prohibit the injection or release of chemicals into the atmosphere “for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity.” While the bill does not explicitly mention chemtrails, it is clear that Greene’s motivations are deeply rooted in conspiracy theories surrounding this fictional phenomenon.
In reality, what is referred to as “chemtrails” are actually contrails – the byproduct of jet fuel exhaust mixing with cold, humid air. This phenomenon has been extensively debunked and does not warrant any legislative action.
