Owen Wilson Recalls Hitting the Stage With Travis Scott During Rolling Loud Miami: ‘I’m Not a Dancer’
In a recent interview with Apple Music 1’s The Zane Lowe Show, actor Owen Wilson shared his experience of joining forces with rapper Travis Scott during an unforgettable performance at Rolling Loud Miami.
As he recounted the incident, Wilson expressed his initial reservations about dancing on stage, particularly in front of thousands of fans. “My two boys were there, and I think it helped having them there because I knew I couldn’t back out of it,” the Wedding Crashers star mentioned, emphasizing the support system provided by his sons.
The comedic actor further confessed that he was hesitant to dance due to his lack of dancing skills. He candidly admitted, “I wasn’t expecting to dance and I thought that Travis would be doing all the dancing while I’d be just kind of hanging out on stage.”
However, with encouragement from Scott’s hype man before taking the stage, Wilson found himself immersed in the chaotic atmosphere. The adrenaline rush prompted him to let loose and join Travis Scott in an impromptu performance.
“I was talking to his kind of hype man before I went on, and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t expected to dance because I’m not a dancer,” Wilson explained. “And then it seemed like right in the next second, I turned and there’s Travis walking back towards me. And then I was out there, and it was an out-of-body experience, and I found myself just, you know, yeah, the adrenaline.”
Wilson further discussed his connection with Scott, which resulted from a mutual acquaintance in Hollywood filmmaker Wes Anderson. The two are set to star together in the upcoming Rolling Loud film.
In the movie, Wilson plays an overprotective father accompanying his 13-year-old son to the music festival.
