One of the best action movies ever made lands on Netflix today, and it’s not to be missed. I am thrilled to share that Mad Max: Fury Road has finally arrived on the platform for your viewing pleasure.
As an epic action masterpiece, this film is sure to transport you to a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with outlandish characters, massive explosions, and some of the most breathtaking action sequences ever captured on film. I still remember watching it in theaters for the first time, and the experience left me utterly blown away. Even beyond the pulse-pounding action, there’s something so incredible about this movie that will leave you in awe.
One of the key aspects that sets Mad Max: Fury Road apart is its meticulous planning. Director George Miller and artists collaborated on an astonishing 3,500 panels of storyboards before even writing the script itself. In essence, Miller created a graphic novel that mirrors the final cut of the film almost exactly. The concept and storyboard work began in the late 90s, but unforeseen circumstances forced a change in plans.
The production moved to Australia, then back to Namibia in 2012, with Mel Gibson originally set to reprise his role as Max. However, delays made it impossible for him to participate, and Tom Hardy took on the part instead. Charlize Theron was cast as Imperator Furiosa.
The story follows Max as he helps Furiosa escape from warlord Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his War Boys, including Nux (Nicholas Hoult). It’s imperative that you watch this movie to see the intense car chases and more.
