Gate.io has taken a sudden decision to remove the webpage showing a $600 million Pump.fun token sale page. The deleted page had announced that 150 billion PUMP tokens were available for sale at $0.004 each, indicating a valuation of around $4 billion. Gate.io support claims they have removed the page following negotiations with the project.
The pump.fun platform has experienced significant growth since its launch in 2024, generating over $694 million in total revenue. However, recent data suggests that the platform’s momentum has slowed down considerably since January’s memecoin frenzy. Daily revenue has decreased from over $7 million to below $2 million in recent months, and trading volumes have plummeted by a staggering 75% since January.
With the removal of this token sale page, speculation is rife regarding the potential debut of Pump.fun tokens. According to Polymarket users, there’s an 83% chance that Pump.fun will launch its token before July 31, 2025. However, many crypto traders have expressed skepticism about the token launch, drawing comparisons to previous memecoin launches that drained liquidity from markets.
The removal of this page raises concerns among investors and enthusiasts alike.
