Kid Cudi is giving fans a glimpse into his artistic vision with the unveiling of the cover art for his upcoming album, “Free”. The Ohio-native musician has revealed that the design draws inspiration from the 1998 Jim Carrey-starring film, “The Truman Show”.
The striking visual features Kid Cudi ascending through the clouds, much like Jim Carrey’s character in the iconic movie. The rapper has promised fans that they are in for a “beautiful ride” with his upcoming project and emphasized that this album art is just the beginning of an immersive experience.
“I wanted something that really expressed freedom, so the concept of me leaping into the clouds made so much sense,” Kid Cudi explained on social media. He also teased the release date for his highly-anticipated record: August 22nd.
As fans eagerly await the album’s drop, they’re already getting a taste with the recently-released single “Neverland” and will have another chance to indulge their ears when second single “Grave” drops on July 11th.
