Bring Me The Horizon Are Getting Chill With Lo-Fi Album ‘Lo-files’
BMTH Announce Surprise Release of Retuned Hits in a Relaxed, Ambient Vibe
Rock outfit Bring Me The Horizon are taking a sharp turn with their latest announcement – an unannounced release of a lo-fi album titled ‘Lo-files’. Set to drop on July 11, the surprise project has the band reworking some of their biggest hits into ambient, atmospheric tracks that are designed for “chilling, focus, sleeping, zoning out… whatever u like,” according to their Instagram post.
This collaborative effort with producers from the lo-fi scene promises an exciting new direction for the Sheffield rockers. The move follows a year after the release of their critically acclaimed seventh studio album, Post Human: Nex Gen (2024).
The ‘Lo-files’ project marks a significant departure from BMTH’s usual high-energy and aggressive style. By diving into the lo-fi genre, the group is demonstrating their willingness to experiment and push boundaries in their music.
BMTH are no strangers to innovation, having taken home multiple accolades for their efforts in the past. Their recent chart-topping success with “Kool-Aid”, which debuted atop Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart (2024) and simultaneously reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales, further solidifies the group’s dominance in the genre.
This surprise release marks a crucial moment for BMTH, as they prepare to headline Reading & Leeds festival next month and have just announced an upcoming North American arena tour for autumn.
