Ahead of Manchester Homecoming Shows Oasis Fill Sky with Drones, Issue Extreme Heat Warning: ‘Wear a (Bucket) Hat’
Oasis is gearing up for their highly anticipated homecoming shows in Manchester this weekend, and the iconic band has found an innovative way to get fans pumped. Just hours before taking the stage at Heaton Park on Friday, July 11, Oasis took to social media to drop a stunning drone display spelling out the band’s name in white lights set to the tune of “Round Our Way” from their landmark sophomore album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”.
As fans flock to the venue, the group has also issued a crucial weather warning. Due to the extreme heat expected on Friday, Oasis is urging attendees to take necessary precautions against the scorching temperatures. The band took to social media early this morning to warn fans of the severe heat, stating “Severe weather advice… please prepare for extreme sun and heat. Wear sunscreen. Stay hydrated at the concert and when traveling. Wear a (bucket) hat. Where possible stay in shade. Look after yourself and look after each other.”
Oasis’ Liam Gallagher has also recorded a series of humorous tram announcements to encourage fans to take public transport to the show. The Manchester native used his signature wit, announcing, “The next stop is Heaton Paaaark, off you go,” followed by, “The next stop is Heaton Park [clap], c’mon, move it!” and finally, “The next stop is Heaton Park, off you go.”
After this weekend’s shows at Heaton Park, Oasis will be playing additional dates on July 16, 19, and 20.
