Google’s Aggressive Pixel 10 Pro Pricing Decision
As the launch date of the new Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro handsets approaches, more details are emerging about the company’s pricing strategy. According to WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, European pricing reveals that all four models will have the same storage options at a similar price point.
The base model, Pixel 10, will be available starting at €899 with 128 GB of storage, while the Pixel 10 Pro will start at €1,099 for the same storage capacity. The Pixel 10 Pro XL will begin at €1,299 for 256 GB and finally, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will also start at €1,899 for the same amount of storage.
Interestingly, there is no listing for a 128 GB variant of the Pixel 10 Pro XL, which might be limited availability or Google’s decision to drop this option. It remains to be seen whether these variants are available in other regions as well.
The move by Google to retain pricing on the Pixel family could be seen as an aggressive push into the market, especially considering prices from other smartphone portfolios have been steadily increasing over the years.
However, it appears that the base model, Pixel 10, may actually be the key handset in this family. With the expected upgrade from the Pixel 9’s two camera lenses to three on the main camera, and the integration of the new Tensor G5 mobile chipset along with increased generative AI capabilities, this phone is likely to shape the market at its €899 price point.
Additionally, it seems that Google will be focusing on using the Pixel 10 Pro Fold as an ongoing reference design for foldable phones rather than targeting a general consumer audience.
