Pump.fun User Just Burned $75K Worth of PUMP Tokens
A costly mistake has been made by a user of the popular meme coin platform, Pump.fun. The unfortunate event occurred when the individual attempted to clean low-value tokens from their wallet and accidentally included 10 million PUMP tokens worth $75,000 in the purge.
According to data shared by Lookonchain, the wallet address “4X43Dm” burned the massive amount of PUMP tokens at exactly 13:16 UTC on Sunday, just a day after the token’s initial coin offering (ICO).
It is not clear whether the user used software designed to remove low-value tokens or manually performed the action. Nevertheless, this mistake highlights the importance of double-checking high-value assets during wallet maintenance.
The incident comes following Pump.fun’s record-breaking ICO on Gate.io, where 125 billion PUMP tokens, representing 12.5% of the total supply, sold out in just 12 minutes despite an initially planned 72-hour sale window.
