Nothing Headphone 1 Now Shipping With Retro Design And KEF-Tuned Sound
The long-awaited Nothing Headphone 1 has finally started shipping to the global market. The innovative audio product from London-based Nothing is now available for purchase in the UK, USA, and India at a competitive price point.
One of the most notable features of the headphones is their retro design that deviates from the typical round or oval shapes adopted by other prominent brands like Sony, Bose, and Apple. Instead, the Headphone 1 boasts a unique squircle shape with an elegant translucent back, reminiscent of vintage cassette tapes. This fresh new look will undoubtedly appeal to audiophiles and those seeking something different from traditional headgear.
The headphones have been designed for comfort, with a cushioned headband and earcups. At 329 grams, the Headphone 1 may not be the lightest pair available in the market, but they should still provide comfortable wear for most users.
The company has combined aluminum and high-tech plastic elements to create durable earcups that are also oil-resistant. The memory foam in the earcups ensures a tight seal, allowing for effective passive noise cancellation.
A distinctive feature of the Headphone 1 is its lack of touch sensors or buttons. Instead, the user must navigate the controls using three distinct features: a customizable button on the outer frame, which can be set to launch your smart assistant or Channel Hop when paired with a Nothing Phone 3; a roller that adjusts volume levels and also serves as play/pause and long press for Active Noise Cancellation or Transparency mode; and a paddle that skips tracks when pushed left or right and controls playback speed when pressed forward or backward.
In the audio department, the Headphone 1 has been tuned by renowned speakers KEF to deliver crisp highs, powerful bass, and a balanced sound. The inclusion of 40mm drivers with a nickel-plated diaphragm ensures enhanced clarity in the highs and potent bass.
The active noise cancellation (ANC) technology built into the headphones works impressively well, suppressing ambient noise effectively for public chatter or airplane engines. Users can adjust the level of ANC using low, medium, high, or adaptive modes to suit their preferences.
Pricing and availability details have been shared by Nothing, with the headphones available in the UK, USA, and India for GBP 299, USD 299, and INR 21,999 respectively. A limited-time introductory offer is also available in India, which reduces the price to INR 19,999 or approximately $235.
The new headphones are now available on Amazon and Nothing’s website in the US, with Indian customers able to purchase them through Flipkart, Myntra, Vijay Sales, Croma, and other leading retailers.
