Louis Tomlinson Says Recent Online Criticism of His Relationship, Family Has Been ‘Too Much and Too Hurtful For Me to See’
Former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson has opened up about the relentless online criticism he’s been subjected to in recent times. In a candid statement on his social media page, the pop star revealed that the constant negativity has taken a toll on his mental health.
Tomlinson explained that the overwhelming hate has even extended to include his mother, Johannah Deakin, who passed away in 2016 following her battle with leukemia. He expressed his frustration with fans who feel the need to comment on his personal life and relationships, stating that it’s “too much” for him to see.
“I’ve been quiet about my recent relationship status because I didn’t want to deal with all the comments and speculation surrounding it,” Tomlinson wrote in a post. “I don’t think it’s right to make assumptions or judge people based on their personal choices.”
The singer, who has been open about his struggles with mental health, emphasized that he doesn’t mind criticism of his work as an artist, but believes that the constant barrage of negativity can be damaging.
Tomlinson’s post received widespread support from fans, many of whom praised him for being honest and vulnerable. Some also expressed their own frustration with online bullying, stating that they too have been affected by the negative comments.
In a separate comment section, some fans responded by offering words of encouragement and support, urging Tomlinson to keep his head up and ignore the haters.
