Benson Boone Shares Sam Fender Cover at Montreux Jazz Festival
In a surprise move, American singer-songwriter Benson Boone took to the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival to pay tribute to Sam Fender, who was forced to pull out of his headlining performance earlier this month. On July 15th, Boone honored Fender’s scheduled set by delivering an impressive rendition of the UK artist’s hit single “Seventeen Going Under”.
Boone expressed his admiration for Fender during the performance, stating that he hopes those in attendance would be able to extract at least five percent of the song’s essence. He praised the track as “beautiful”.
