Trump Shares a Personal Story About the Unabomber That Doesn’t Make Any Sense
President Donald Trump appeared at an event in Pennsylvania to promote investment in artificial intelligence and, in a bizarre twist, shared a personal story about the Unabomber that left many scratching their heads.
According to Trump, his uncle, John G. Trump, was a professor at MIT who taught Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, one of his students. Trump described Kaczynski as a “good” student who would constantly correct others’ work. However, this claim is filled with inconsistencies that leave no room for interpretation.
For starters, John G. Trump died in 1985 at the age of 77, which means it’s not possible for Donald to have had any conversations about the Unabomber with his uncle before Kaczynski was identified and arrested in 1996. This raises serious questions about the credibility of Trump’s story.
Furthermore, Gizmodo has found no evidence that Kaczynski ever studied at MIT or Harvard, despite earning graduate degrees from those institutions. In fact, it seems that Kaczynski attended Harvard University for his undergraduate studies before pursuing a career in mathematics and teaching at Berkeley.
It is unclear what purpose Trump’s story serves, but it seems clear that the President has no understanding of either AI or the Unabomber himself.
