Reddit users were left frustrated this morning as they attempted to access the popular social media platform, only to be met with a server error message reading “We have encountered an error. Please try again later.” The company’s system status page confirmed a “partial outage” affecting its desktop web, mobile web, and mobile apps.
As of 11:20 AM ET, issues began to surface on Downdetector’s status page, showing a significant spike in reported problems. While the issue seems to have resolved for some users, many are still experiencing errors.
At this time, it is unclear what caused the outage or how long it may take to resolve. Reddit has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
Users who attempted to access the site were met with the error message, which did little to alleviate their frustration. The platform’s status page displayed a “partial outage” notice for all affected services.
