Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell Brings Lawsuit Over Beach Trespassers
Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell has taken legal action against the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, alleging that local police officers are refusing to take any action against trespassers who have been “antagonizing, bullying and harassing” his family on their private beach in Florida.
According to court documents obtained by Billboard, Littrell filed a petition last month claiming that despite numerous requests and the execution of required forms, the sheriff has failed to enforce the law and remove the trespassers from the property. The singer claims he has sought help from local authorities but has been met with resistance.
Littrell’s attorneys assert that body camera footage from May captures an officer telling a trespasser on the property that they “don’t agree with private beaches” and describes Littrell’s police reports as “lunacy.”
Furthermore, the petition highlights an incident in early June when another trespasser became aggressive and took real estate documentation away from Littrell’s property manager. According to the document, personnel at BLB contacted the sheriff three times that day, including once at 1:58 pm and again at 3:02 pm, but the department refused to dispatch an officer to the location.
In response to Billboard’s inquiry about the court petition on Thursday (July 17), a spokesperson for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office stated they do not comment on pending litigation.
