Nine Inch Nails has given fans something to believe in. The industrial rock juggernaut surprise dropped a brand new song on Thursday (July 17), and also announced that the Tron: Ares soundtrack will be arriving on September 19 via Interscope Records.
The new song, titled “As Alive As You Need Me to Be”, brings with it an industrial and danceable vibe reminiscent of electronic duo Justice. The track is co-produced by Boys Noize, who is currently supporting Nine Inch Nails as the opening act on their Peel It Back world tour. Additionally, Boys Noize also collaborated with Trent Reznor in remixing the Challengers score.
The song serves as the first single from the upcoming Tron: Ares soundtrack, which will be a whopping 24 songs strong. This marks Nine Inch Nails’ latest new music release after a five-year hiatus.
In related news, the band has announced that they will embark on their Peel It Back world tour starting August 6 and running through September 19.
