TikTok is adding features for songwriters to its app
TikTok, the popular short-form video-sharing platform, is rolling out new features aimed at supporting and empowering songwriters. The latest update includes a “Songwriter” label and a dedicated tab on their profiles where they can showcase their musical works.
This move comes as an effort by TikTok to allow songwriters to better market themselves and connect with potential clients. By featuring these labels, the platform is creating opportunities for songwriters to build a stronger online presence and expand their reach.
It is also worth noting that Spotify has been offering similar features to highlight songwriter credits for years now. Additionally, Tidal has taken it a step further by releasing a tool to track royalties and manage songwriting credits.
Although TikTok had previously shut down its music streaming service, the platform still plays an important role in helping users discover new music and artists promote their work.
