It appears that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services, is once again considering a presidential run. According to Axios, Kennedy’s super PAC co-hosted an organizing meeting last week on Zoom, which some attendees believe could be a step towards another campaign for the embattled public health figure.
The meeting was led by Tony Lyons, the cofounder of the MAHA super PAC, and featured notable appearances from influencers such as celebrity Russell Brand and motivational speaker Tony Robbins. It’s essential to note that Kennedy has not made any official announcements regarding his candidacy.
In 2024, RFK Jr. ran for president first as a Democrat before switching to an independent candidate, eventually dropping out of the race and endorsing Donald Trump. This comes after the Secretary has been overseeing significant changes in the country’s approach to chronic illness, including mass layoffs and budget cuts at various agencies under HHS, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Moreover, Kennedy has been working tirelessly to promote wearable technology. During a recent House committee meeting, he announced an extensive government advertisement campaign centered on wearables to encourage their widespread adoption by the American public.
It’s crucial to point out that while it’s unclear whether RFK Jr. will actually make another presidential bid or what his chances would be if he did, considering his prior failed run and mixed views of him among Americans (43% disapprove of his work at HHS, as per a recent Pew poll), there are no guarantees about who might take the reins of the GOP in the future.
RFK Jr. is now 75 years old by the time he would likely enter office.
