The White House is pushing back against growing demands for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s case. According to a recent report by Fox News Digital, the administration is dismissing criticism over its handling of the matter.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took the podium on Thursday to address concerns that the government has not been transparent in regards to the investigation and subsequent actions. In a statement, she emphasized that “the fact that Democrats have now seized on this as if they ever wanted transparency when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, which is an asinine suggestion for any Democrat to make.”
Leavitt’s comments were met with skepticism by many lawmakers, who have repeatedly called for the release of files and documents related to Epstein’s case. Critics argue that the administration has not been transparent in its handling of the investigation.
In response to criticism, Leavitt shifted focus to other issues that she claims are a higher priority for President Donald Trump. These include the GENIUS Act and border security measures.
Trump himself weighed in on the controversy, stating that “the Justice Department has bigger problems than the Epstein case.”
