Christian University Accused of Rebranding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts to Evade Trump Administration’s Demands
Belmont University, a self-proclaimed Christian institution, is under fire for allegedly continuing its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives despite President Donald Trump’s executive order demanding colleges and universities dismantle such programs or risk losing federal funding. According to Tennessee Republican Representative Andy Ogles, the university has rebranded its efforts to evade the administration’s demands.
In an undercover recording obtained by Rep. Ogles’ office, a Belmont University faculty member can be heard admitting that the institution is not only maintaining its DEI initiatives but also enrolling illegal immigrants and hiding this information from external entities. The official claimed that the university has changed its language and terminology to continue pushing the same radical agenda under a new name.
Rep. Ogles expressed his outrage, stating that Belmont University claims to be grounded in Biblical principles but is instead injecting anti-gospel DEI ideology into its curriculum. He demanded an investigation into these allegations and emphasized that such actions could potentially violate state law.
