In a recent announcement, BNB Chain revealed its intentions to develop a brand-new blockchain network that prioritizes speed, efficiency, and privacy. This ambitious project aims to create a revolutionary infrastructure capable of supporting hundreds of millions of users with faster, more private, and self-sufficient systems.

The new layer one blockchain is designed to provide sub-150 millisecond confirmations and exceed 20,000 transactions per second (TPS). To achieve this monumental feat, the network will employ native privacy for transfers and smart contracts, eliminating the reliance on intermediary layers. This strategic move ensures compliance with regulatory standards while upholding user confidentiality.

To accelerate the development of this cutting-edge infrastructure, BNB Chain is adopting a Rust-based client, leveraging multi-threaded execution, enhanced memory usage, and optimized node syncing. The proposed network will also see a substantial gas limit increase from the current amount to an astonishing 1G, effectively tripling its capacity by tenfold and enabling up to 5,000 swaps per second in decentralized environments. This enhancement is built upon earlier changes introduced during the first half of 2025, which included significant block time and finality reductions alongside a massive 95% drop in malicious MEV activity.
