Subaru has just launched its latest electric vehicle, the Uncharted, which boasts a remarkable 300 miles of range and a whopping 338 horsepower. This marks the company’s third foray into the world of EVs, following the Solterra and Trailseeker.
The Uncharted rides on the same E-TNGA platform as Toyota’s C-HR EV, sharing an uncanny resemblance to its counterpart. The two versions of the vehicle will be available next year, both equipped with 74.7kWh batteries.
The standard front-wheel drive model is expected to put out a respectable 228 horsepower and deliver up to 300 miles on a single charge. However, for those seeking a bit more oomph, the dual-motor four-wheel-drive version will be available, boasting 338 horsepower and a sub-five-second 0-60mph time in either Sport or GT trims. Notably, these specs mirror those of the C-HR EV.
One notable feature is the inclusion of a Tesla-style NACS charging port, granting owners Supercharger access. While fast-charging speeds are capped at 150kW, Subaru claims that with the use of battery preconditioning, it can recharge from 10-80 percent in under 30 minutes.
Visually, the Uncharted shares an astonishing similarity to the C-HR EV, boasting identical side cladding and restyled front end. Even the interior is eerily similar, featuring a nearly identical center console capable of wirelessly charging two phones, along with a 14-inch infotainment screen supporting Android Auto/CarPlay.
In contrast to Tesla’s offerings, Subaru has deliberately included a generous array of manual controls for drivers who prefer a more tactile experience.
At present, pricing information is still under wraps, although it may be comparable to the C-HR EV’s starting price of $35,000. The Uncharted is set to arrive alongside the Solterra and Trailseeker in 2026, cementing Subaru’s presence within the electric vehicle market.
