**Billy Joel Shares Health Update, Says Brain Disorder ‘Sounds a Lot Worse Than What I’m Feeling’**
Legendary singer-songwriter Billy Joel has shared a health update following his diagnosis with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain disorder that has forced him to cancel all upcoming shows. In an interview on Bill Maher’s Club Random Podcast, Joel expressed gratitude for the support he’s received and provided some insight into how he’s coping with the condition.
As reported by Billboard, Joel confirmed that his diagnosis was indeed accurate, saying “I feel fine.” However, he acknowledged the severity of the disorder, stating it “sounds a lot worse than what I’m feeling.” The musician went on to explain that while he may not be experiencing severe symptoms at present, the condition is still being worked on and treated.
Billy Joel’s health update comes just two months after the rock and roll hall of famer announced his diagnosis and subsequent cancellation of all scheduled shows. His team released a statement at the time, noting that he would undergo “specific physical therapy” to combat the disorder, which affects his hearing, vision, balance, and performance capabilities.
The news sparked concern among fans and fellow artists alike, with many taking to social media to express their support for Joel’s health journey. Billy Joel had been set to make history by becoming the first artist in history to perform at all three New York City-area stadiums – Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, Citi Field in Queens, and MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Unfortunately, his condition has made that feat a distant possibility for now.
The iconic musician’s most recent release was Billy Joel: And So It Goes, a documentary that premiered recently.
