iOS 26 beta 4 arrives, with Liquid Glass tweaks and AI news summaries
Apple has released the fourth developer beta of its next big software update, iOS 26. The new version includes subtle changes to the company’s rebranded Liquid Glass redesign as well as the reintroduction of AI-powered notification summaries for news articles.
The latest developer beta (iOS 26 beta 4) largely reflects what users can expect in the forthcoming public beta, which is expected to debut later this week. The developer betas are designed to give mobile app developers time to test their applications with Apple’s new software so they’re prepared for the widespread release of the operating system in a few months.
As part of the move towards offering early releases to consumers, Apple has been providing public betas since its Worldwide Developers Conference in June. This enables iPhone users to also get access to the updated software before its broader global launch, albeit with fewer stability issues and bugs.
In iOS 26 beta 4, Apple includes a new “Welcome” splash screen whenever you update the software, accompanied by introductory screens for various features like Siri, AI-powered notification summaries, and prioritization options, as well as the revamped Camera app.
