A prominent New York City Jewish leader has expressed grave concerns regarding the potential consequences of Zohran Mamdani becoming the city’s mayor. Scott Feltman, the Executive Vice President of the One Israel Fund, spoke with Fox News Digital to discuss the rise of the socialist candidate in the upcoming mayoral election.
Feltman emphasized that he is not opposed to a Muslim or individual from any faith running for office. However, he expressed strong disapproval towards Mamdani’s association with Hamas and Hezbollah, stating that his platform poses serious safety concerns.
The Jewish leader highlighted the surge of antisemitic attacks in recent years, particularly in New York City. He cited the instance of two Israeli embassy staffers being killed in Washington D.C. earlier this year, with the perpetrator shouting “free Palestine” during the attack. In addition, Feltman mentioned an Egyptian man targeting a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, which resulted in one death and several injuries.
Feltman warned that under Mamdani’s leadership, “it will create a certain trepidation in the Jewish community.”
