Sony is Finally Making It Possible to Pair a DualSense with More Than One Device
In a significant move, Sony has announced that it will be introducing a quality-of-life feature to the PlayStation 5. As part of the next PS5 system update beta, players will have the ability to pair their DualSense controllers with multiple hardware platforms simultaneously.
This means that users will no longer need to re-pair the controller each time they want to switch between devices. The new feature allows for up to four devices to be connected to a single controller at any given time. Each device will be mapped to one of the action buttons, providing seamless transitions between gaming sessions on different platforms.
To utilize this feature, users must first ensure that the desired device is turned on and then simultaneously press the PS button and the corresponding action button for three seconds. When the light bar begins blinking on the controller, it’s safe to release both buttons, allowing for a quick and easy switch between devices.
While not all players may find this change particularly significant, those who frequently hop between platforms will undoubtedly be thrilled by this news. The current beta access is limited to an exclusive guest list, but Sony has assured that the feature will be rolled out globally “in the coming months.”
This development has sent shockwaves throughout the gaming community, with many praising Sony for taking a major step towards simplifying the user experience.
