Ethel Cain has opened up about her personal life in a recent interview with The Guardian, revealing that she’s just begun her first-ever romantic relationship at the age of 27. In the candid conversation, the indie-pop star shared that love was always her “final frontier,” and that she never explored it before now.
Cain discussed her newfound experiences with romance, admitting that her anxieties surrounding these new feelings often made the recording process for her upcoming album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, a challenging one. The musician explained that she would cry daily and implore for the album to be finished due to the emotional turmoil.
The singer’s remarks come as she readies the release of her latest work, which is set to drop on August 8th. Willoughby Tucker will serve as a follow-up to January’s Perverts, with Preacher’s Daughter preceding that in April.
